- We want families to be excluded from the new border screenings. Families seeking protection with underage children must under no circumstances be held under conditions similar to detention in the EU. This also applies to a so-called crisis situation to be determined by the European Commission in accordance with the Crisis Regulation.
- We advocate for a reform of the dysfunctional asylum system in the EU in line with the guarantees of the Geneva Convention and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union by spring 2024. The situation at the EU's external borders is unacceptable and must be improved.
- We push for a system of solidarity in which all member states participate. Responsibility must be shared to protect those seeking protection and their human right to apply for asylum. Funding is part of solidarity, but the most important pillar remains reception.
- We urge to ensure that pushbacks stop at the external borders as well as at the internal borders.
- We advocate for more safe and legal paths for migrants and humanitarian corridors for refugees be facilitated, where they can come to Europe safely and be welcomed, protected, promoted and integrated.
- We insist that global solidarity emanates from Europe. The lack of real and far-sighted support for human rights, economic development, security and democratization would create or exacerbate the causes forcing people to leave their countries.
